Competitions and Recitals
Piano Loft students are encouraged to participate in a number of piano competitions and auditions. It is all up to the student and the family, but we offer a wide range.
National Guild Auditions

The National Guild of Piano Players has grown to more than 850 audition centers where thousands of students enroll annually in our international auditions, which are held throughout the U.S. and abroad. Its primary function is to establish definite goals and awards--in noncompetitive auditions--for students of all levels, from the earliest beginner to the gifted prodigy. With the exception of our "special" programs, teachers have the flexibility to choose all repertoire for student auditions. Students are judged on individual merit, by a well-qualified music professional, in the areas of accuracy, continuity, phrasing, pedaling, dynamics, rhythm, tempo, tone, interpretation, style, and technique. Our purpose is to encourage growth and enjoyment through the study of piano.

The National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) offers more than $750,000 in competition and award prizes on the local, state and national level.

Sonatina Festival

The annual Sonatina Festival aims to raise awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the Sonata and Sonatina musical forms.  As many music auditions and competitions are held in the spring, this festival encourages musical preparation during the fall semester by providing a performance goal for students of all ages and levels.

Seasonal Recitals

Here at Piano Loft, we hold three studio-wide recitals, free of charge, throughout the year: Halloween Recital, Christmas Recital, and a Summer Recital. The students work hard to perfect a chosen piece to perform in front of their peers and their families. These recitals are fun, entertaining, and provide a major mark in each student's journey as a pianist.
